Hall expansion in Kecskemet
Second stage of hall expansion in Kecskemét
Following the opening of the new Duvenbeck logistical site in the Hungarian city of Kecskemét, the second stage of the expansion has now been launched. The objective formulated even before construction started was loud and clear: “there must beadditional space available to meet the growing demand by 1st March 2013.” An ambitious goal, considering that constructionwork only started on 15th October 2012. The logistics centre already existing is enclosed and heated, with an area of around 5,000m², and is not to be extended by 7,200m². In addition extra social and office spaces covering 180m² are being built. Around the logistics centre there are another 2,200m² of covered outdoor area and six extra unloading gates for the low-cost storage of empty containers.
The expansion became necessary due to the successful sales activities and strong production figures of MBMH. Today, 18 customers are accommodated by the halls. Delicate parts, such as bumpers or complete glazing, are sequenced here, including assembly and diecutting. In addition, all CLAs with chassis components sequenced by Duvenbeck arrive here. The picking of tyres delivered loose is also part of the product portfolio, as are QM services. This expansion was a rapid response to growing customer demand.
