1,000th Duvenbeck truck is a Euro 6-compliant Actros

On 27th June, the number of heavy goods vehicles domiciled at the Bocholt-based Duvenbeck group reached 1,000 for the first time. And the truck that took the fleet to four figures was a new Mercedes Actros which was ceremonially handed over at the Mercedes factory in Wörth. Making a special journey from North Rhine-Westphalia to the event were Managing Shareholder Thomas Duvenbeck accompanied by his wife, Pia Duvenbeck, and fleet manager Bernd Reining. They had responded to an invitation from Thomas Witzel, Head of Truck Sales at Mercedes-Benz Vertrieb Deutschland (MBVD), and Sven Holtermann, Managing Director of Herbrand GmbH, the Mercedes dealership in Bocholt.

"I am delighted that our thousandth truck has the Mercedes star on its grille," said Thomas Duvenbeck on receiving the keys to the nw HGV. "As a logistics service provider with our own large fleet of vehicles, we depend on reliable partners and efficient technology. With its low fuel consumption and emission values, the new Actros is the best choice we could have made for our business. What`s more, the new Actros will help us to reduce our impact on the environment and contribute to sustainability."

The partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Duvenbeck goes back a long way. Around 600 of the 1,000 trucks owned by the logistics provider have been supplied by the Daimler Group. The newly acqured Actros is one of the first vehicles in he fleet to comply with the strict Euro 6 emissions standard. "We will now closely monitor our experiences with Euro 6 and adjust our future fleet investment accordngly," added Thomas Duvenbeck.

The recently purchased Actros is a three-axle tractor unit with a low-slung frame. With its array of modern features, the new Mrcedes-Benz offers its crew a supremely comfortable cabin to work in. Duvenbeck opted for the StreamSpace cab version which has almost two metres of headroom between the seats and over 800 litres of storage volume. The fully adjustable pneumatically suspended seats for driver and co-driver plus the ultra-wide bunk ensure a comfortable ride and the opportunity to rest and recuperate during breaks.
